There is something incredibly simple about The Company Shed. And whilst it may appear simplistic on the outside, the one thing that you should know is that the food here is all about the taste. 

Thought of locally as one of the very best seafood restaurants in West Mersea - the seafood is locally caught and brought directly to the restaurant. And the produce that is served alongside, are locally sourced as much as they can too. 

Not only this but the alcoholic beverages that are served within the restaurant are also produced by local businesses too.

One of the things we love about Duke’s is that it’s an open-air seafood joint. This means that whilst you get to sample some of the delicious foods that they have on offer, you can also take in the sights of the water, right next to you.

The original oyster shed of Mersea island, not only can you choose to eat in at this particular restaurant, but you can also take away your favourites too. If this wasn't enough to make you want to try some of the fantastic seafood that it has to offer, then you can also take a look at the fishmongers on-site, where you can buy some of their amazing seafood and take it home with you.

If oysters are your thing, you will want to choose the delicious oysters that are on offer from Richard Oysters. These oystermen are now in their seventh and eighth generation, which means they have harvested delicious oysters from the waters in their blood.

Not only can you buy their oysters in the local area, but they are so popular that they even take their seafood to Borough Market in London too.
